| Student Bursaries |
The organisers of QSAR2004 are keen to encourage the
involvement of post-graduate (PhD) students and young researchers
in the Workshop. As such, fees for registered students have been reduced.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, financial assistance (in the
form of bursaries) may be available for registered PhD students and
young researchers who can demonstrate a need. The following conditions
apply:
- Students and young researchers will be considered for bursaries
only if they can demonstrate they are actively involved in research
within the main themes and sessions of the Workshop.
- The student or young researcher must make a presentation of
their recent research findings (oral or poster) at QSAR2004 and
be willing to attend and contribute to the whole workshop. The
presentation must fall within one of the main themes and sessions
of the meeting.
- Students and young researchers are expected to actively seek
funding to meet their travel and registration fees before requesting
a bursary from the Workshop organisers.
- Bursaries may be made available to cover (either in part or
in full) the cost of registration fees or travel (or both) for
students and young researchers.
- All decisions will be made by the Local Organising Committee,
or their nominated representative(s), and will be made on an individual
assessment of each case.
- To apply for a bursary the PhD student or young researcher should
submit an abstract for the meeting to meet the deadlines stated
on the web-site. The PhD student or young researcher should then
contact in writing (e-mail is acceptable) the organisers to state
their case for a bursary, and the funds requested. This should
be at the same time as submission of the abstract.
- A letter in support of the application of a bursary, and the
PhD student’s or young researcher’s attendance at
QSAR2004 is required from the Director of Studies, or the home
institution.
