POSTER PRESENTATIONS: Times, Poster Boards, Submission of Papers to the Proceedings and other details.
General
  • You must register and make the full necessary payment to present your poster.
  • All poster presenters are encouraged to submit a manuscript of their work for publication in the Proceedings.


There are two poster sessions:

Monday 10th May 2004 – Poster Session 1: Ecological Effects and Knowledge Development

Chairmen:

This includes submissions in the following areas:

  • Predicting Environmental Toxicity
  • Modelling Environmental Fate
  • Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining
  • Toxicogenomics / Molecular Mechanisms

Posters should be in place during the morning of Monday 10th May to allow viewing during refreshment breaks and lunch. Posters should be manned between 16.20 – 17.20 on Monday 10th May. Posters should be taken down at the end of the Poster Session.


Wednesday 12th May 2004 – Poster Session 2: Human Effects and Applications of QSARs

Chairmen:

This includes submissions in the following areas:

  • In silico ADMET
  • Prediction of Human Health Endpoints
  • Regulatory Use of QSAR
  • Validation of QSARs
  • QSAR Methods: Statistical Analysis and Physicochemical Properties


Posters should be in place during the morning of Tuesday 11th May to allow viewing during refreshment breaks and lunch. Posters should be manned between 17.15 – 18.15 on Wednesday 12th May. Posters should be taken down at the end of the Poster Session.


Poster Boards: Dimensions and Layout

  • The poster boards are VERTICAL. The dimensions of the boards are 4 feet (120cm) (wide) by 7 feet (210cm) (high). Please design your poster to fit these dimensions.
  • Please affix your poster to the correct (numbered) poster board at the correct time; if possible fix your poster early on the assigned day.
  • Poster boards are Velcro compatible. Please use proper fixing material only (which will be supplied) – do not use pins, blu-tac etc.


Preparation of Posters:

  • Text on posters should be brief and keep text to a minimum.
  • Use bullet points to get the message across.
  • Use a clear font (e.g. Arial, Times Roman etc); use simple backgrounds; excessive use of logos is not encouraged.
  • TITLE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS and a font size of 72pt.
  • Author and Affiliation 42pt.
  • Minimum font size for text is 24pt.
  • Please provide the following sections:
    • Abstract
    • Introduction
    • Aims
    • Materials and Methods
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusions
    • Supporting Material and References
  • Please provide contact details or a business card.
  • If possible, provide a printed summary of the poster (i.e. A4 or letter size).
  • Please leave an envelope for comments or questions.
